Bridal GLOW!

Lauren's top 5 skincare picks for smooth, even-toned, glowing bridal skin!

Dr Dennis Gross: Clinical Concentrate Radiance Booster

- A 'serum-like' concentrate to put the 'pep' back into your skin. Reveal brighter, more plump & radiant skin with the daily use of this serum! This fantastic little bottle of radiance contains a unique complex of 3 acids; Pyruvic, Tartaric, Linoleic offering a time-released hit of glowing goodness!
Use this product on its own, under your daily moisturisers/oil, mixed into your moisturisers/serums.

REN: Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial

- The perfect quick-fix for an uneven skin texture! Formulated with water-activated vitamin-c, this product provides firming, toning & smoothing benefits to the skin (the perfect 'Wedding Eve' skin fix!). If used regularly (3x a week) leading up to the wedding day, the skin will benefit even more from the resurfacing actions of this quick, 1-minute facial. It helps to reduce signs of fatigue, skin imperfections & banishes dull, flaky texture! A definite must-have for glowing bridal skin on your wedding morning!

Sunday Riley: The Power Couple (Luna Sleeping Oil & Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment)

- These two products are what's known as the 'Power Couple' in the skincare world, and for a good reason!! Luna, a retinol infused nighttime facial oil, provides you with a glowing skin like no other! Greatly diminishing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles while also helping with the look of pore size & sun damage. Containing Avocado Oil to help prevent flakiness & irritation.

The second component of the 'Power Couple' skin duo is 'Good Genes', a lactic acid treatment product, designed to help clear the skin of any blemishes (thanks to the lactic acid!) and also provide a daily exfoliant, to banish gritty texture & uneven tone. To top it all off, Good Genes aids in reducing the appearance of any pigmentation in the skin. Lauren recommends using the products in combination with each other, for optimal results.

Karuna: Sheet Masks

- Karuna have an incredible range of sheet masks, which include....anti-oxidant, brightening, hydrating, exfoliating, clarifying, age-defying, as well as under eye treatment masks! There is a mask for everyone's skin needs. The sheet masks are shaped and fitted to sit perfectly on the face, soaked in the serum treatment. Leave this mask on the skin for 20mins for instantly refreshed, glowing skin!

For my Bride's-To-Be looking to pick-up some premium skincare to take their skin glow to the next level, you can find all the above mentions at a MECCA Maxima Store, or, a MECCA Cosmetica store, or online at - enjoy!

Ashlee & Oliver – Noosa Hinterland Wedding

Ashlee & Oliver were married on the first Saturday of Spring, 2016, with their ceremony held at ‘The Chapel’ in Woombye & reception to follow at Ashlee’s family property in Doonan in the Noosa Hinterland area.

The morning was spent getting Ashlee, her bridesmaids, sister-in-law & mother ready with makeup & beautiful hairstyling by Coastal Style Mobile Hairdressing at the family home.

Ashlee’s makeup look was created to bring out her eye & perfect the skin – a classic & beautiful bridal look that I absolutely loved creating!

Makeup Breakdown:
Base: To create Ashlee’s natural base we used a beautiful medium coverage foundation which was applied in light layers with a dampened beauty sponge. This application method is key for a flawless, natural looking base, but without losing a great coverage! I added a splash of colour back into Ashlee’s cheeks using the ever-stunning Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in the Shade ‘Dim Infusion’. With this blush containing photo-luminescant technology, it is guaranteed you with look truly glowing in all your wedding photo’s!

Eyes: To bring out the gorgeous blue in Ashlee’s eyes we chose to use warm brown shadows & a pop of gold & bronze on the lid. The combination of these colours is the perfect parter for a blue or green eye! Complete with a full set of my favourite customised individual lashes, Ashlee’s eye were naturally enhanced!

Heidi & David – Hidden Grove, Noosa Heads Wedding

I was privileged enough to be asked to do makeup for Heidi, on her wedding day in beautiful Noosa Heads, Sunshine Coast.
Heidi & David were married in Hidden Grove – Noosa Woods, with a reception to follow at Berardo’s Bistro on the Beach, on Hastings Street.

What an absolutely stunning bride, Heidi wore an amazing bridal gown by White Lily Couture, accompanied by Tiffany & Co. jewels & gorgeous florals by Twig & Grace.

Makeup Breakdown:
Heidi’s bridal makeup look was created to bring out her bright blue eyes & add definition to her look, against her blonde locks! We achieved this look by using gold & bronze shadows, which are my go-to shades to make blue eyes really stand out, finishing off the eye look with a feline flick & a full set of customised individual false lashes.

To achieve Heidi’s glowing, flawless complexion Make Up For Ever HD Foundation was buffed into the skin, in light layers, building up to a medium coverage. The finish of this foundation is truly incredible……being designed for high-definition film & photography it smooths the skin & blurs pores & imperfections, leaving Heidi with a natural, flawless base that looks beautiful in real life & translates perfectly in her wedding photo’s.

PRODUCT: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

Product Spotlight: Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Blush

Now, let’s talk complete product luxury. I have recently purchased 3 heavenly shades of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes, for my professional makeup kit. This range of blushes is of the most modern makeup technology, using Photoluminescent Technology to exhibit depth and dimension”. This product is hand-baked in Italy, “formulated using an advanced miscelare technique—which means “to mix” in Italian—creating the perfect balance of pigment and powder, and no two look alike”.

The Ambient Lighting Blushes are free from….
• Parabens
• Fragrance
• Talc
• Nanoparticles
• Gluten
• Not tested on animals

I have added the shades….
– Mood Exposure (a gorgeous dusty rose, with a slight plum undertone)
– Luminous Flush (a shade of a brighter champagne rose)
– Dim Infusion (a subdued soft coral colour)

All equally as stunning, in varying shades & each suited beautifully to different skin tones. With these three shades, I guarantee I’ll be able to pick the most perfect shade for each of my client’s unique complexions.

I already know how fantastic this blush formula is, as I’ve had ‘Mood Exposure’ in my own personal makeup kit for around a year & a half now. Being my go-to blush when I’m at my palest of skin tone. It has the softest iridescence to it, without being shimmery & tacky. Creating a luminous glow on the cheeks to the naked eye & also in photo’s, this product is definitely one of my all-time favourite cosmetic items.
I just love it!

Being such a personal favourite & having tested it’s longevity, colour payoff & finish… was an easy decision to add this one-of-a-kind product to my pro- makeup inventory!
These blushes have great staying power, without fade on the cheeks over the day & into the night, making them perfect for a bridal makeup as they photograph beautifully and last all day & night, so you will never look washed out in your wedding photo’s.

It’s truly a 5-star performer for gorgeous, glowy cheeks!

I can’t wait to use these three glorious blushes on all my future clients, I guarantee you with LOVE them just as much as I do!

“Where can I buy these from?”
Your local Mecca Cosmetica or Mecca Maxima store and head over to the glorious Hourglass stand.

“How much does it cost?”
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes cost $50.00 each.

“How many shades are available?”
There are 7 individual, unique shades to choose from.
*Hint…… ‘Mood Exposure’ is a bit of a stand-out in my books!*

“I haven’t heard of the brand ‘Hourglass’ before, do they have any other products that I should check out?”
Oh my gosh! You’ve been missing out!
Hourglass is easily in my top 3 favourite brands. They are bring out one revolutionary product after another. I would highly recommend checking out their ranges of Ambient Lighting Powder & Bronzers too. Along with their cult favourite ‘Veil Mineral Primer’. I guarantee you will not be disappointed at the high-quality, long-lasting results these products provide.
P.S…..if you love a little cosmetic luxury, (much like myself) then their packaging and product designs will make the morning makeup routine a very enjoyable one! Plus, they look oh-so-gorgeous on your makeup vanity!

Wedding (Elopement) Styled Shoot – Boho, 70’s Bridal Inspired – Sunshine Coast, QLD

The talented Zoe from Worth Photography & Monique from Come fly with me Lola Vintage asked me along to create a 70’s inspired makeup look on the stunning Shaanti, for this unreal Styled Elopement Shoot!

I so loved being part of this shoot, make sure to check out the images & makeup breakdown below!

Makeup Menu

Brief: 70’s inspired, defined eyes, full lashes & a HD-ready base for flawless photo’s in natural daylight.

SKIN: Our gorgeous model Shaanti had amazing skin, tanned & lightly freckled… Make Up For Ever’s HD Foundation was the perfect choice!  Applied lightly to her face, for a natural look, Shaanti’s freckles subtly showed through & she had that all over natural ‘glow’ to her skin. I love this foundation for weddings & photo shoots as it’s made for High-Definition film & photography – creating natural, but flawless skin in real life and on camera.

EYES: Full lashes and a thick winged liner were definitely the focus of Shaanti’s makeup look. Blending gold & bronze shadows over her lid, deepened with warm browns to complement her skin tone – the colour combo made her deep brown eyes pop.

Shaanti’s lashes were a gorgeous fluffy set of Model Rock Lashes, in a strip form. They have a clear lash band, which curves and sits on the eye comfortably for all-day wear and comfort!

FINISHING TOUCHES: To get Shaanti’s glowing skin, a liquid illuminator was used, buffed into the high-points on the face, then set with a powder highlighter from Hourglass (Ambient Lighting Powders). For her seamless, bronzey skin, I reached for my ‘Soleil Tan De Chanel’ (from Chanel), which is a rich mousse/cream bronzer. Cream bronzers & contour products are my go-to for bridal looks, as they blend seamlessly into the foundation & skin, leaving no harsh, muddy lines.

Shaanti’s lips were left bare, just a good coating Rosebud Salve lip balm was applied for an effortless, boho look!

Amy & Alex – Surfair Resort – Marcoola, Sunshine Coast Wedding

Well, what an absolute pleasure it was to be the makeup artist for Amy’s beachside Sunshine Coast wedding at the Surfair Resort in Marcoola.

I applied makeup for 6x lovely ladies, including the Bride, Amy, her four stunning Bridesmaids & her Mother. Working alongside Amy’s hairstylist for the day (Brooke, one her her Bridesmaids!) was seamless & stress-free, as she created gorgeous, beachy up-do’s for the bridesmaids and a stunning down-style curled look for Amy!

For Amy’s bridal makeup look she wanted fluttery lashes & an emphasis on the eyes, in a natural style. I chose to use soft shimmers on the eyes in warm cranberry & tan shades, to tie in with her bridesmaids dresses & her jewellery. Amy’s look was subtly defined and totally romantic, working perfectly with her bright blue eyes & face-framing hairstyle Brooke created.

I thoroughly enjoyed being part of this special wedding day, such friendly people, gorgeous bridal styling & stunning faces to work on!

Here is the list of great wedding vendors that contributed their skills & services to Amy & Alex’s special day.

Jess & Ryan – Noosa Wedding

August, 2015, I had the pleasure of doing makeup for my lovely Noosa Bride, Jess. With a gorgeous getting-ready location on the Noosa river it was a relaxed, fun & enjoyable morning for everyone! Jess had makeup done for herself, four bridesmaids & her mum.

The bridal makeup look I created for Jess was natural, with enhanced eyes & a soft, but noticeable colour on the lips – as per her instructions…..and it suited her lovely features perfectly! To add the emphasis & definition to the eyes I chose to use a customized full set of individual lashes, in varying lengths/thicknesses to add definition her gorgeous green eyes.

Jess got married at Hidden Grove on Hastings Street, Noosa Heads. With her reception held at Ricky’s River Bar & Restaurant. The Bride & Groom hand crafted most of their wedding decor themselves, but enlisted some fantastic local suppliers to set it all up & add some extra finishing touches on the day. Check out the photo’s from Jess & Ryan’s wedding below!
